Bicycle Revolution on Montague Road is calling for locals to drop off old bikes and bike parts for recycling.
West End’s Bicycle Revolution is home to the only cooperative enterprise in Australia which recycles bike parts to make ‘funky’ new bikes.
Bicycle Revolution’s Justin Barker says demand for the second hand bikes is high.
“No bike or bike part is too old,” he said.
“While we may not be able to use all of the bike – there is usually some part of the bike we can recycle.
“Most of our bikes are built from the parts of many different bikes.
“The most popular bike sold is a standard ladies bike.
Local Councillor (Dutton Park) Helen Abrahams is a strong supporter of Bicycle Revolution’s great innovation.
“I encourage residents to support this local recycling initiative.
“The shop will be open to receive any bikes or parts this Saturday, November 17, from 8am until 2pm, and during next week from 9am until 5pm at 294 Montague Road,” she said.
