Brisbane’s first Disc Golf Course at Fehlberg Park, Yeronga, is taking shape with the installation of the nine permanent baskets at the weekend.
Local Councillor Helen Abrahams is delighted to see Yeronga will be Brisbane’s new home for the sport.
“This was a very innovative proposal to my Dutton Park Ward Liveability Committee – and the committee was more than happy to help make this happen,” she said.
“Disc Golf is a new and healthy sporting activity perfectly suited to the Brisbane lifestyle, combining the fun of throwing a Frisbee with the challenges of golf.
“Players use a flying disc, which they throw from a tee-off area to elevated metal baskets in the fewest number of throws.
“It’s a fun, low-cost, low-impact sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.
“We hope to attract players from all over Brisbane when the course is opened in the new year,” she said.
