The exposed aggregate and paver footpath in the Annerley Shopping Precinct will be cleaned with a system that recovers all water, detergent and dirt material used in the cleaning process, local Councillor Helen Abrahams said.
Enviroblast Wash Collect Recycle Pty Ltd will undertake the high pressure clean.
“Council has used this process in other areas and the response from the shopkeepers and pedestrians has been very positive,” Cr Abrahams said.
The work will be scheduled from Wednesday 23 May and Thursday 31 May, subject to weather conditions and machinery availability.
Work should commence at 7:00pm so as to minimise disruptions to pedestrians and traders.
“In the time of our severe drought, I am delighted to advise that all water, detergent and material will be recovered during the process and the machinery generates very little noise,” Councillor Abrahams said.
“This initiative will add a sparkle to this very busy shopping precinct.
“I believe shopkeepers and customers will appreciate the fresh clean environment.”
If the need arose for some work to be undertaken during the day, shopkeepers and pedestrians could at times experience some inconvenience due to:
· Restrictions on footpath use in small areas whilst cleaning is in progress
· Parking restrictions to allow a vehicle with trailer to park adjacent to work area.
