Another victim of ‘invisible" parking restrictions

Letter to the Editor

The Gabba Traffic Area continues to catch drivers unaware while increasing Council’s revenue and keeping Council staff busy responding to all the letters of complaint from people who just did not know about the 15 minute parking restrictions on game days.

The most recent victim was a visitor from Maryborough who wrote “I walked the length of the street looking for signs but alas could not find any”.  He continued “I do feel for a major venue such as the Gabba better signage would help your cities visitors enjoy the experience rather than be surprised with a $75.00 penalty. I think it is reasonable for your visitors to expect clear and concise signage.”

I totally agree with these comments. The Gabba Traffic Area parking restrictions do not work. It must be changed so innocent visitors to our City are not fined. The restrictions should be clear for all to see whether a visitor or resident in our City
