As Councillor for The Gabba Ward I receive numerous complaints from residents about parking fines. A significant number are that the fine was issued even though the parking permit was on view on the dashboard.
Now I have had the same experience.
My parking permit was clearly visible on the middle of the dashboard of the Council car parked outside of my house and yet I got a fine.
I have never doubted the honesty of the complainants but now I am even more certain that parking permits have been “missed” in the past.
I am sorry for the parking inspectors. The Lord Mayor should take the pressure off the inspectors so they have time to do their job properly.
