Memorial seat for Highgate Hill Park

A new park seat shaped as a dragonfly will be installed into Highgate Hill Park in memory of local artist Sarah Elston who lost her life XX months.
The seat has been designed by local artists, Ann and Michael Chadwick, using the dragonfly as this motive was used frequently by Sarah in her work.
“Sarah’s parents David and Jan Elston approach me with this request and I was delighted to agree to it”
“The seat is paid jointly from The Gabba Ward Park Trust fund and the Elston’s” said Cr Abrahams.
“I think it is a fitting why to remember Sarah who was a vibrant, much loved local resident of West End” said Helen Abrahams.
“A violent death is devastating and this violent death of a young person resulted in an out pouring of emotion of many of her friends and acquaintances.”
“The seat is to be located in a quiet area of the park where one can sit and enjoy some quiet reflection” said Cr Abrahams
