Street Artist Launch

28 September, 2009

The Launch of Fleur Noble’s “Work in Progress’’ will be held at  Shop 3, 220 Melbourne Street on Tuesday 29th September at 10 am.

Fleur is a guest artist to West End for 10 days. Fleur observes people in the street and then on oversized paper quickly sketches images that reflect back what she sees.

As Elena Vereker, Brisbane Festival, says

“If you stand in the window long enough, you may find yourself included. It's a real dialogue between her as an artist, and what she sees, and what you as an audience member are watching her create”

“The work of Fleur Noble reflects that eclectic, vibrant and ever changing scenes In Boundary Street” said Cr Abrahams

“I would urge residents to take to the time to stop and watch and marvel at Fleur’s drawing skills”

Fleur completed school in 2001 and four years later she won a 12-month scholarship to study at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture.

“It is great to have a world famous artist in West End giving us an insight to what is great about this inner city area” said Helen Abrahams.
