A new public toilet is part of the streetscape improvements for Logan Road, Woolloongabba.
“The funds have been allocated and the site has been identified adjacent the new parkland on the corner of Jurgens Street and Logan Road” said Helen Abrahams
The toilets will be built as part of Stage 3 of the improvement works.
“I have been calling for public toilets as part of this project for some time on behalf of members of the Woolloongabba Business Association since the beginning of the project” said Cr Abrahams
“Understandably, the community has become less tolerant to public urination as it is occurring more frequently” said Cr Abrahams
“Local traders object to having to sanitise their footpath prior to open their shops. I support their objection” said Cr Abrahams
The design of the toilet will be discrete so that the facility blends into the streetscape.
“The wishes of the local traders have been heard and as a result the whole community will benefit” said Helen
