Council will change the traffic lights at Latrobe Street andLytton Road intersection, East Brisbane to improve pedestrian safety.
“These changes are the result of years of calling for action on the part of members of the East Brisbane Neighbourhood Watch and local residents” said Cr Helen Abrahams.
“I’ve meet with residents on site three times in the last 12 months to discuss possible improvements” said Helen
“Residents were determined that the installation of traffic lights was the only solution. So this is good news”
Currently heavy trucks and a constant flow of cars, sweep around this corner giving pedestrians little chance of crossing safely. Parents with children and prams or senior residents find crossing more difficult.
“This is a great outcome’
The date of construction has not been determined as yet but I shall continue to lobby for works to commence as soon as possible
Anyone who wishes to look at the plans for the intersection may contact The Gabba Ward office on Ph 3403 2165.
