Reopening of SE Freeway Bikeway

Helen Abrahams, Councillor for The Gabba Ward announces that the SE Freeway Bikeway will be opened in early March in three to four weeks time.
“Initially, the bikeway was to be detoured around the NSBT project for the entire three years of construction”
“However, discussions on cyclist safety meant the completion of the bikeway link was brought forward” said Cr Abrahams
“The opening in early March will be welcome by cyclists, residents and workers on the project’ said Cr Abrahams
“The opening means no narrow detour routes, no workers having to watch for cyclists, no more traffic controllers on the bikeway, no cyclists suddenly coming onto the road’ said Cr Abrahams
“The designated bikeway with separate pedestrian pathway is best practice” said Cr Abrahams
“ I believe when the direct link is open it will take three minutes off the time of the commuter trip” said Cr Abrahams
