World Refugee Day Celebrations were held at Annerley Soccer fields from 10 an to 4 pm on 27 June 2010.

It was even more well attended than last year with the soccer games being much celebrated. The two stages were busy with refugees entertaining everyone with national dances, hip hop singers and great food.   Alicia Lane starts painting the traffic signal box

The traffic light box on the corner of Boundary Street and Vulture Street , West End must have the highest visibility of all signal boxes outside the CBD.

Cr Abrahams found Alicia Lane painting this signal box on Tuesday 20 April at 9.30am. By five oclock the box was a brilliant red sun. Alicia, a jewellery student, painted this box ten years ago. Now it is time for a new "snaphot of West End" . So keep an eye out for the new art work.

St Josephs is an Active School

One of Council's most successful projects is the Active School Progam.

The results of change in travel patterns at the schools participating in this program this year are shown below.

The results for St Joesph's School are fabulous as the children and parents are walking, riding bikes and scooters on the footpaths of some of our City's busiest streets. There is strong support for this program in the school and Principal Michael O'Sullivan is one of the strongest advocates.
