Dabke (Arabic for ‘to stomp’) is a popular folkloric music and dance of ‘Bilad Ash-Sham’ – the Arabic speaking countries Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Jordan and Iraq. Join Amber Hansen for two weeks as she leads you through the historical and cultural roots, basic steps, musical elements and a short choreography of this exciting dance style.

What's On in Stones Corner & West End Library

Discover the joys of reading this winter with the Gold Star Reading Club. The 2012 program commences in Brisbane City Council libraries on Saturday 12 May and runs until Friday 31 August 2012.

Looking for five good reasons to get involved with the 2012 Gold Star Reading Club?

  1. Membership to the Gold Star Reading Club is free.
  2. The Gold Star Reading Club can help children improve their reading and literacy skills.
  3. Children will be rewarded for reading with exciting monthly incentives – book plate stickers, a door hanger, library bag and bookmark light.

Hazara Women's Walking Group

Gonewalking is a free program led by a trained volunteer and is delivered by Brisbane City Council in conjunction with the Heart Foundation.

60min medium paced health and fitness walk. All women welcome.
