Construction Update: Work on Wolseley Street, Buranda Woolloongabba Sewer Capacity Upgrade Project – Part A
Queensland Urban Utilities, a division of Brisbane City Council, is increasing the capacity of Woolloongabba’s sewer system to cater for the increasing development in this area.
Part A of this project will involve the installation of new sewer pipes in Wolseley Street, O’Keefe Street, into Fern Street, through Hanlon Park to Stones Corner.
Construction work in Wolseley Street, Buranda, is progressing and work crews will be continuing to construct the pipeline. Boring activities are scheduled to start this Friday 25 June, within the work area located in the middle of Wolseley Street, for approximately six weeks. A new access shaft will be installed at the southern end of Wolseley Street, approaching Tottenham Street.
Work hours will continue to be Monday to Saturday, 6.30am to 5pm.
As this work is on the road, on street parking next to the construction sites will be temporarily removed to ensure two-way traffic flow along the street.
There will be general construction noise, some dust and an increase in construction traffic during work hours. Every effort will be made to keep these disturbances to a minimum.
Traffic control and detour signs will be in place at all times to assist commuters accordingly.
No disruption to wastewater services are expected due to these works.
Queensland Urban Utilities has issued a works notification letter to all surrounding residents. An updated information script has also been supplied to Council’s contact centre.
