The reason for the removal of two house is that Council acquired and demolished the house at 1 Orleigh Street.
The application states:
“The subject site adjoins a vacant allotment (1 Orleigh Street) which contained a pre-1946 dwelling which has been recently demolished. The allotment was purchased by Council in order to construct a roundabout on the corner of Orleigh Street and Hoogley Street. The demolition of the adjoining dwelling at 1 Orleigh Street resulted in the demise of a cluster of 3 pre-war dwellings”
The application is Notifiable Code Assessable and so neighbours will be notified and it will be advertised in the local paper. There is no right of appeal of Council’s decision.
